Ally Walsh is a director, artist facilitator and collaborator from South Africa with a passion for development and creative dialogue through the arts. Ally completed an MA in Applied Drama at Goldsmiths College, and studied drama and English at Rhodes University in South Africa. She is the Learning Manager for the Mary Neal Project.
Most recently, she has been a writer in residence working with adult males in prison, and a workshop leader touring to women’s prisons throughout the UK with Clean Break. Since working in the UK, she has been artist facilitator for Contacting the World with young theatre makers from Zambia, Poland, London, New York, Rio de Janeiro and Manchester.
Ally worked on Feathers in the Snow with City Ambassadors at the National Theatre with young emerging theatre makers. In South Africa, she was project manager of Ubom! Eastern Cape Drama Company, directing community theatre and doing workshops in schools. The Mary Neal Project is a great jig, a wonderful song to join, and a special community of artists.
