Mary Neal's entry in the Dictionary of National Biography was written by Roy Judge in the year 1998. He was immensely pleased that she had been recognised in this way. He was clear that Mary's story needed to be told more fully in its own right, as had others before and since.

The Mary Neal Day on Feb 7th 2009 celebrates Mary's life and work and the handing of her papers into the public realm at The Cecil Sharp House.
